The Plan B mounting system utilizes a 0.900″-24 thread pitch on the muzzle device side (the part that threads into the suppressor adapter).

This system involves two distinct thread interfaces:

  • Muzzle Device Thread: The male threads on the flash hider are 0.900″ diameter with 24 threads per inch (tpi).  This tapered section mates with the female threads of the suppressor adapter (such as the Q Plan B mount, Rearden Atlas, or Liberty Precision mount).
  • Suppressor Hub Thread: The adapter itself threads into the back of the suppressor using the industry-standard 1.375″-24 thread pitch, commonly referred to as the “HUB” or “Bravo” thread.

The Plan B design relies on a taper-on-taper contact between the muzzle device and the adapter to provide a secure, repeatable lockup while keeping carbon off the primary threads.

Suppressor facts sheet, general knowledge:

So, what exactly is a K can? The “K” stands for “Kurz” or “Kurtz,” the German word for “short”. It’s fitting, considering a K suppressor must be 6 inches or shorter to be considered one. Most manufactured today, however, are in the range of 4.5 – 5.5 inches. The popularity of K cans has grown so much in recent years, many companies are now creating K variants of their favorite full-length suppressors to fit the ever-evolving needs of their customers. But why are K cans so popular? Are they just a trend, or do they have genuine applications?
